We installed our second hive of Italian/Carniolian hybrids Tuesday. This time I wore my protective gear because this package seemed a bit more lively than the first. I am glad I did because the back of my veil ended up with several stingers in it.
This hive was placed on a hill a couple hundred yards from Jack’s Creek in woods where we hunt. I wanted these to be closer to the Ohoopee River, which is only 2 or 3 miles from the location.
I went and checked the feeder today and they seemed to be settled in quite well and were very docile.
